About the event
National Parks, huckleberries, the Headwaters of the Missouri . . . we all know that there are lots of things that make Montana a special place to live. One equally special thing that doesn’t always make it into the travel brochures, however, is the Montana Endowment Tax Credit. The METC offers a generous tax incentive to charitably inclined Montana donors and represents an exceptionally compelling tool for promoting donor support of nonprofit endowments in the state.
In this workshop, we will walk through each facet of the METC and then discuss the planned-giving tool most often paired with the METC—the Charitable Gift Annuity.
Topics to be discussed:
The Montana Endowment Tax Credit
Endowments
Planned Gifts
Tax Deductions and Credits
Charitable Gift Value
Charitable Gift Annuities (CGA)
Deferred Gift Annuities (DGA)
Opportunities and Risks of Planned Giving Programs
This workshop is free to MNC members and $25 per person for non-members. We hope to see you there (via Zoom!)
In his role as Philanthropy Officer at Montana Community foundation, Mitch Carroll helps donors and nonprofit organizations fulfill their philanthropic goals and charitable missions while helping Montana communities flourish. Before joining the team at MCF, he spent seven years as Development Officer for the Archie Bray Foundation in Helena. He also fulfilled a life dream of working for a year as a craft baker. Mitch has a bachelor’s degree in Spanish Language and Literature from the University of Montana. He is originally from Clancy, Montana, and now lives in Helena with his wife, Lindsey. One of his favorite things about Montana is the small talk that makes everyone feel like a neighbor.
